Ok, I am having a severe issue. I know reading things over and over about anxiety doesn't help but I am ssooooooooooooo worried. I lost my job-only had it 6 mo and I was terminated. Now, I am delaying trying to go get another job because I am terrified of having a panic attack during the job interview and/or having panic on the job. See, I have been through job interviews a gazillion times but my anxiety and panic came back with a vengence a few months ago and no matter what I read, I can't stop that overwhelming sickening feeling that I am not going to be able to get thru these panic attacks! I have had panic disorder for yrs but never to this point. I am just terrified! How can I truly stop this as I have been out of work for almost 2 wks and need to get moving on another job. I have been staying with my mom -she lives an hour away from me. I am terrified that I won't get a job and if i DO, I won't be able to bear the anxiety once i Start.

Man, no matter what I read or tell myself --I am beginning to have some major doubt! What do other ppl do in this situation? It's like I
know I have to do this but thr thought of going out there trying to apply for jobs sweating, shaking, heart racing--flushing feeling faint dizzy is just more than I can bear! It's like I will be fine but then I start thinking of all the pressure on me and the idea that I if I don't get a job I can't support myself and myt anxiety is going to make me go nuts!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Help me!

Hi Starlet

First I know its easy to say but dont panic. It seems to me that your problem as far as interviews go is nerves not panic. I have interviewed many people in my time and can recognise the syndrome. As for not being able to keep a job because of panic you dont know. It seems that you are assuming that you will be panicky in a new job, who knows it may just be the career you have been looking for and you will be the best in the world at what it is your doing. Be positive and im sure you will be able to see that you will work and be allright agin soon. As for the terminated, did Arnie Schwarzeniger pay you a vist, or did you simply lose your job. Be better soon and good luck

Firstly the fact you want to find a job is the first positive step you could take. Secondly hun who doesnt get nervous, even those that have been so lucky never to have touched how we feel get nerves at the thought of it. We are all behind you and i am sure from reading your post that you can do the best that anyone can. Determination counts for a lot and you definately have that.

thanks you guys! I know that I will be fine because I HAVE to be fine. Just don't want to feel the so sick when I have to be ON TOP ya know? I guess all I can do is just DO IT no matter how bad I feel. OH, and it's pure panic Keith--not just nerves--boy do I wish it was. I really hope one day I will be over this for good. It's so exhausting. It's OK though.

THanks so much you all! :D

Oh thanks Sal! So sweet. atleast 1 person is thinking of me;) Hey, I am heading back home to face my job interviews and what not and am apsolutely terrified. But it's time to just get on with it. I just feel so shaky inside. Maybe a while since I have no internet connection at home.........I will have to go to the local library so I won't be able to communicate as much..

but God bless!
