Hi all,

I am looking for re-assurance thats all.

I lost a stone in weight in August time when my anxiety turned into agoraphobia (I didn't leave the bedroom for about 3 weeks). I didn't eat during those weeks. I have since taken great strides and am getting about and living life normally again.

I eat everything now - I have polished off mega boxes of chocolate, large meals I must have doubled my usual calorie intake (I wouldn't normally eat like this) Basically for the past 6 weeks I have eaten like a horse. But I cant put weight on... I am trying to get back to just over 8 stone.

Now I am worried that maybe there is an underlining issue? Has anyone else experience this?

Thx

Hi, when I was at my most anxious time I could not gain weight. Anxiety burns up calories constantly as your body is ready to "fight or flight".

I'm sure it's anxiety but do see your doctor for reassurance if you worry too long, as that can be just as bad and make your angst worst.

Take care.

I'm trying to get back to just over 9 stone! I lost weight too due to anxiety, Finding it hard to put back on, I don't normally junk food, but have been eating crisps, chocolate cake, extra butter on my bread, cheesecake, pizza, chips, all unhealthy I know but eating healthy stuff too!
I think I've not put all the weight on due to still being anxious, I've had lots of tests and all came back clear.
you will eventually gain the weight back, maybe Christmas dinner will help :-)
I have always lost weight very fast, some people are just opposite , like other people gain weight really fast and find it difficult to lose.
as long as your maintaining your weight and losing it you should be ok :)
