Hello Everyone,
I found this site after reading Nicola's article in the Daily Mail.

I am 60 years old, married with one married daughter and two lovely grandchildren. I first suffered health anxiety in my early twenties. I think it had a lot to do with my mum dying when I was thirteen and my dad when I was twenty one ( six weeks after the birth of my daughter).

After a lot confusion I was eventually prescribed Anafranil and I took it for about twelve months. It worked very, very well and I was O.K for about the next 30 years.

When I reach my fifties my anxiety came back with a vengeance - probably due to the menopause, a lot of changes in my life and one traumatic experience.

In the last 5 - 6 years I have tried other therapies including EMDR.

Having read some of the posts, I am very curious about EFT. This appeals to me as it is something I can use myself. I have quite a few hospital appointments in the next few months and i think this could help me to control my anxiety. I would be grateful for anyone's views on this therapy.

I've been reluctant to post because I'm very nervous at the moment and I am SO MUCH OLDER than all of you.

I have read many of your posts and can see that you are a very caring and kind group of people. I look forward to getting to know you all.

Hi Pheobe

Welcome aboard and glad you read my article in the Daily Mail and found your way here.

You are not the oldest on here so don't let that worry you ok?

There are quite a few posts about EFT so as Trac says look under the therapy forum and you will be able to read them there.

Hope we can be of some help anyway.

hey pheboe

i think there are many people here in their fifties and sixties so dont feel afraid

firstly congratulations for conquering this horrible thing once. i have suffered with it for over 4 years and can see no way out so it is great to see someone like you and most of all the hope you bring

if you can do this once i think you can do it again. here you will get lots of support and most of all a feeling that you are not alone

take care
