What a relief to find this web site. Although i wouldnt wish health anxiety on anyone its good to know there are other people who know exactly what im talking about and dont think im going mad!
By the sounds of all of the site users i too have the same thoughts and feelings as you guys on almost a daily basis. I have had this condition for about 5 yrs and to say its taken over my life at times is an understatement. I take antidpressants which ive come off twice to get pregnant and within weeks of giving birth gone back on them. I wish i could see an end to it, i dont think i will ever be rid of itwould love to come off antidepressants though. Ive heard cognative behavioural therapy is good, anyone tried it or know anything about it?

Hi Becks

Welcome to the site, pleased you have found us. I had CBT and it helped me loads, it goes into how we are feeling and changing how we respond to issues and with me it felt like she was testing me to how i would respond and making me see that anxiety was making me see things differently to how i should and when i was talking to her and didnt feel too anxious she made me see how thinking patterns can be changed. She always said to me thinking is a thought and not an action, one way she put it helped me loads, i could think i would win the lottery tomorrow night, but thinking it didnt ever mean it would happen. Put those horrible thoughts back in to perspective. Thoughts are not actions.
