legionnaires disease

Well I want to say first, this site has helped me alot and I have been panic free for about over a year now! :)

Anyways I am worried I might have legionnaires disease. I try not to worry now but a friend said that If a air conditioning unit leaks water on you it can carry the bacteria, and that happened to me, I was walking in Wilkonson in England and some water from an air conditioning unit landed on my lip, and now im worried I have it, It says about symptoms of cold and flu but I already have a cold so I cant tell it I develop anything, it happened today,

Any help would be great!

It is highly unlikely that one drop of water would give you this.

It is quite rare and modern air conditioning units are very safe.

Nic’s right – it’s very rare for air conditioning units to contain these bacteria. And you’ll probably find that the drip you felt was just a bit of condensation from the casing, not from actually inside the unit where bacteria might very occasionally develop.

I think your friend was probably winding you up!
