Low White Cell count

Hi all,

Something thats been playing around in my head.

A few years ago I went into hospital with palpitations. Basically I had flu & my heart rate was around 126bpm

I have blood tests and they came back normal, but the doc said in my white blood cell count was low.

At the time I thought nothing off it, but lately i have developed HIV anxiety (getting tested next week) (14 years since i put myself at a low risk and feeling fine.)

Can flu cause a lowering of the white blood cell count?

If it was a few years ago and you had the flu it's nothing to worry about, especially if you're going to have some tests soon anyway :) The flu does cause lowered white blood cell count so that'd be the cause of it at that point.
