View Full Version : punched in head
hey, as ive mentioned in earlier posts, head bangs or injury set off severe anxiety for me, today while jumpin around and messin about with a a mater, i accidentally got punched in the side of the head pretty much on my left temple, it just at first, then for aboutr a half hour, now its not hurting just a little throbbing, it was around 5-6 hours ago, i was just wondering wheater i should worry or go to A&E iwth it :( just a bit scared, help would be apreciated :)
All the ebst. mork.
Hi, Did you say you were messing about with a meter??
haha sorry, no, messign aroudn with a mate (friend)
Hi, I don't think you should worry. Unless it was a really big blow to the head you are likely to be ok, just as long as you have not got other symptoms like pain in eyes or blurring of your vision or dizziness you should be fine.
eyes are a littel sore, but i didnt sleep well last night so i put that down to being tired
Hi, Yes, I think a lot of us get that with using PC a lot.
anything i should look out for with this knock to the head, its some what achey but not painful. i tend to have heavy head feeling and drowsyness anyway due to anxiety daily so not sure what to look out for with this injury
Hi, Just keep an eye on it for about 48 hours and if nothing else develops the sore head will disappear in a few days completely. A couple of years ago I gave the top of my head a really hard knock when I did not realise a door was very low, it was a tourist attraction which I was visiting and I really banged my head there, felt it vibrating, but I was ok without medical help. You should be too.
cheers Lucy, ive had a few knocks over the last 5 months, none to serious, they just all set off my anxiety
Hi, I understand just how you feel as anxiety makes us feel like going to doctors but I am sure you will be just fine.
gettin soem minor pain on back leeft side of my head, nothing to bad, just dull throbbign pain
UPDATE: i phoned the NHS helpline to check, they said it should be ok, i need to look out for headaches that wont go away, bruising behind my ears, bruising of my eyes, confusion in speach or like unusual beheaviour, a bit reasured, still worried tho
Hi, How is it now? It should be wearing off now gradually.
no headache, however i have a blocked nose, sore throat and blocked ears, my famiyl has a cold/flu, so ive put it donw to that but still kinda worried its related
Hi, I have had similar symptoms this week. I think it is the weather and colds on the go.
ive heard from people that head injury can casue flu symptoms indicating fatal compliczations, is this true?
Hi, No, I do not think this is true. It is most likely to be due to the cold weather and various viruses on the go at the moment. Please do not get over wrought about this as you would know by now if it was going to have any lasting consequences. I know it is very easy to think the worst but I am sure if you try to take your mind off it a bit it will soon be forgotten.
thanx lucy, i geuss its ahrd to forget things, when im paranoid my mind set is "im not gonna make it to christmas" so its worring me :(
