Just wanted to post what I did yesterday.
My therapist visited me yesterday and met me outside in her car. She asked me how I'd been since I last saw her and she drove as I told her.
The furthest I've been since I've been Agoraphobic was a couple of weeks ago when I got to my local shop and the local supermarket car park in the car, which is about 1/4 mile from where I live.
But yesterday my therapist kept driving as we chatted and she drove me to the clinic where I'm due to have psycology appointments. The clinic is almost 2 miles away from where I live. I was suprised I did it without having a panic attack. I was anxious and I did really want her to just turn back and take me home.
On the drive back she parked outside my local shop and wanted me to get out. I was shaky then as well as anxious and felt I couldn't do it. But she reminded me about how avoiding something feeds the anxiety. So I got out and she told me if I walked a few steps to the railings I could get back into the car, that was also difficult but I knew if I didn't try I would feel bad about it, so I did it.
Thank you for reading,
Heather
