Does anyone get this?

Hey guys, just wanna wish everyone a happy new year.

I'm a bit curious about something. This doesn't happe often, but when it does happen, it freaks me out.

I was wondering if anyone gets a pounding/racing heart when standing up after sitting or laying down for a long period of time.

Like I said it doesn't happen often but when it does, Im actually scared to stand up again fearing that it will happen. i'm completely in tuned with my heart so every liitle beat freaks me out sometimes.

I have had many heart tests so I know my heart is fine but I still am scared of it. I don't notice it in the mornings when getting outta bed or even when Im in school.

But at home sitting or laying on my bed, Its like I feel its gonna happen when I stand up.

Yes, I get it a lot! My Gp says its changes in blood pressure, nothing to worry about.
I just got up from my bed to go to the loo, (about 5 steps away) and my heart is banging like the clappers....it will start to feel better in a few minutes...dont worry, its ok x

Wow thanks so much for responding. My cousin says she gets this too sometimes.

It really freaks me out cuz I never had it a few years ago. I hate having this. I remember reading its a bp change but I wonder if other people feel it or notice it to?

Probably lots of people get it, its only if we have anxiety and worry about it that we notice it more I think Mark. Next time it happens, say to yourself "Oh, there goes my bp, going up a little cos I stood up, it needs to go up to get me moving....." Try that. x
