Hi guys i used to be quite a regular visitor here and all you guys have gotten me through some really bad times . My anxiety hasn't been as bad for a while but something I'm finding very hard to deal with the moment is sleeping ,Ive got to the stage were when I'm going to bed I'm terrified . It all started a few months ago when i went to see an ent specialist about a swollen uvula I'm quite overweight and the doctor suggested that i could have sleep apnea . After chatting to my own GP and my wife I'm reassured that don't have this but since then I'm terrified of going to bed . It all starts when I'm falling asleep i can hear my heart beating hard and fast and sometimes my arms be numb or i can hear my breathing getting deep and i jerk awake . i haven't slept in weeks and my life is become hell. Don't know were to go for so guys any reassurance would be lovely.

Thanks

Hiya :)

Would you believe me if I told you that it is normal to hear your own breathing before you drop to sleep?
I also hear my pulse going in my temple at the side of my head but because I don't have Health Anxiety it doesn't bother me at all.

I think you have got yourself worried because the subject of Apnoea has been raised. Apnoea can cause you to have disturbed sleep which you're often not even aware of but it isn't dangerous in adults who are generally healthy, it just makes you tired during the day.

My daughter has it and has an apnoea machine so I know a fair bit about it..try not to worry yourself, you are ok. :flowers:

Honey I'm the same even when i walk past my bedroom door my stomach turns I'm so sacred .Ive even found myself looking at people and thinking how do they sleep ? Why am i not normal ? I'm going to go and see my GP about it . I'm going to be asking to be referred for CBTs as this really helped me before . I know exactly how you feel I'm going through this as well . Your not alone.
