I've been getting some very odd sensations lately. When I'm not on or due on my period I get a cramping sensation which almost feels as though its coming from inside me.
I also have more discharge than normal but it isnt discoloured.
I also tend to get piles quite alot.

I look up on the internet and guess what, cervical cancer. Now I am very very worried.
I'm only 21 so I havent had a smear test yet however i've been sexually active for two years.

This is so, so, so unlikely to be cancer. It almost certainly isn't. Because:

1. You are very young
2. You didn't become sexually active at a very young age
3. Lots of people get cramping sensations from time at different points in their cycle (including me) at it is perfectly normal.

See your GP and maybe for a smear if you want to calm your fears, but I really think you are fine :)

I think I will mention it to my GP to be safe.
I'm abit scared of the idea of smear tests though, do they hurt?

No, they don't hurt. As a comparison, use your fingernail to gently scratch some skin cells from the inside of your cheek. It feels like that.

Where they take the cells from does make it a bit unpleasant, and it's not something I look forwards to, but it's not something I'm scared of.

And, believe me it's much better than the anxiety and worry you are having now. And you'll have to have one sooner or later anyway :-)

Would I be experiencing more severe symptoms if it was cancer?

I'm not an expert, I have no experience in this area, but I would imagine so. I've had 'symptoms' like this for all of my adult life without even considering it to be anything abnormal, and I haven't got cancer, and I don't think you have either. If I was a gambler I'd put money on it.

I can see my comments haven't allayed your fears, so book an appointment with the doc and set your mind at rest :).

Hiya

Alot of women get pains very simular to period pains when they are ovulating which is about 2 weeks after your period. I get this sometimes and it is very simular to my normal period pains.
