I have just taken my first Propranolol tablet that my GP prescribed for my increasing Migraines.

The thing is I have typically low blood pressure (runs in the family). My normal blood pressure is between 90/60 - 100/62 Having read the packet, I notice these tablets are usually given to treat high blood pressure. My doctor did take my blood pressure and pulse before prescribing the medication, so I assume its ok.

My mum has a blood pressure monitor at her house and will take mine in 30 mins, (it takes half an hour to work) just to make sure its not in my boots!

Anyone else got low blood pressure on these tablets?

ok so it wasn't much lower than normal then.

Just keep an eye on it and remember you may get dizzy when standing up quickly

good point Nicola, its a change that you look for isnt it. I dont feel dizzy or tired but I do have a pain in my upper chest towards the back on my left side. Im hoping its not connected...

I was prescribed them to stop the anxiety and stress induced migraines but I feel panicky still about one of my 'problems' that is a cause (debt) I was hoping it would make me feel I could cope again.

I am only on day 1. Do they build up in your system?

One thing you may not know that is that you need to drink plenty of water when you have a low blood pressure as well.

I am on Bisoprolol (for my heart) and also blood pressure reducing medication so I have to keep an eye on my blood pressure too.

I think they take a few days to have the full effect.
