Hi just joined today, I am struggling at the moment with anxiety/panic symptoms, nothing feels as it should and I feel really detached.
I have felt like this in the past and each time recovery comes and I feel better I swear to myself I will never feel anxious again, but it really feels like it is something over which I have no control.
I seem to struggle with everything family, pets, sleep, shopping & general socialising. I take a deep breath paint on a smile and do it but I generally feel awful. Feeling like this is exhausting and as I live in a fairly remote area help is hard to find, which is why I joined this forum so if anyone out there feels the same I would love to hear from you.

hi christine, i sympathize hun. i also suffer panic and anxiety attacks. when i pick the kids up from school/concerts/tescos/hospitals/ques..you name it and i wont even go near a dentist! lol
im on mild anti depressents which take the edge off a little bit and i practise breathing excersizes which help prevent me hyperventilating. like you, i have 4 kids, cats and a hectic life..i rarely socialize.
have you spoken to a doctor? i used to think i was the only one but i now know how common these feelings are. you are not alone.
if you ever fancy a chat, feel free mail me.
the great thing i find about this site is that there is always someone who understands..take care :)

Hi Christine & welcome to NMP. I've suffered with panic/anxiety for 12 months now. I suffered from depression on & off for years but nothing like this. You'll be really glad you found this site because there is everything you need to know on here & its so reassuring knowing you're not alone. A lot of us have manic lifestyles, I work full-time, am a single mum with 3 kids 17, 8 & 5, so life is mad. Like I really need anxiety on top of all this!! Still, things happen for a reason & I hope & pray that one day life will turn around for all of us & let us live panic free.

Take care hun.

christine , many of us feel this way every day so take heart you are nto alone.

if you have tried to recover before and it keeps coming back, perhaps you have never read claire weekes book " self help for your nerves". i find this the best book on the long road to recovery. you can get it from the site above

hope the site helps as well, im sure it will
