Breast .........again :-(

I have a problem with my left breast. It is always painful leading up to my period and then the pain goes away - its very lumpy all the time too, not one definate lump just lots of lumpy areas. I had this area checked 3 months ago by my consultant who did an ultrasound and said there were a few micro cysts.

Anyway I finished period on Fri but my breast is still so sore. I have checked for any new lumps which I hate doing and again can find no definate lump just lumpy areas. But I am absolutely terrified that I have breast cancer. I am due to see my consultant agin in 3 months, he didnt think it was nessesary, but I insisted due to health anxeity. He told me to stop worrying about general lumipness - but I my mind is telling me I might be overlooking a "bad" lump.

I am sick of my boob - I really am and could just cry.

Anyone have similar experience of general lumpiness/and one painful breast etc.
How do you cope and not run to the docs with every little niggle or lumpy area.

I feel like just not checking them anymore - Its an ongoing battle.

Hi mogwog, it can be very worrying. I'm sure if the doctor thought there was a prob he'd send you straight away to be seen. But if you're not satisfied with his answer, how about getting a second opinion? xx

Thanks for your reply - the thing is over the past 8 months I have had 2 gps and 2 breast specialists look at this area of my breast as its so troublesome. It is my lumpier more painful side, I just get in such a state about it :-(
