It's about 2 am here in California and I just woke up with a wierd shaking in my body and had a pretty bad scare. I googled "body shaking" or "shaking body" and found this site. I have had anxiety attacks for about 9 years and its usually the normal "oh im having a heart attack" and then it goes away soon. One night at 3am I went to the emergency room and told them I was having a heart attack and the doctors literally laughed at me and said your 22 years old in good shape your not having a heart attack. I insisted so they gave me test and then explained axiety to me. Thats the first time I ever heard of anything like that. Recently I have started getting an uncontrollable shaking in my body that has lasted many hours at a time and it feels really weird. Almost like I am really nervous or something. Notice other people here have had similar shaking and just curious how you over come it. Thanks and nice to be part of a group like this.

Hi ilndgy

Welcome to the site. You've come to the right place!

Rushed into hospital thinking you're having a heart attack? Been there, done that? Only I'm 42, not 22. Still, I can cycle 80 miles in a day and row 8,000 metres in half an hour in the gym, so there can't be anything wrong with my heart, right?

Well, that's what anxiety can do to you, it can trick you into thinking you're really ill when you're not. Try not to worry, try not to fight your strange symptoms, just let 'em flow over you and you'll start to feel better. The only thing to fear is fear itself, as the man said, and once you realise that your body is just reacting to your own fear you're on the road to recovery - permanently.

Stay strong.

Hi ilndgy and welcome to the site. I have experienced every symptom of anxiety over the years especially the heart thing and i know how scary it can be as I am sure do most people on here but it does get better you just have to learn to recognise them for what they are just another symptom of horrible anxiety.
