I've ben getting this pain on and off for the last week. ONly lasts a second but seem to be getting it more and more/ About 5 times yesterday and 50 today - convinced it;s a brain tumour - when i'm calm i can rationalise it a a bit of a nerve pain but the more i think about it the more tense i get! i HATE being like this

All the time my friend. Nerves misfire all the time, esp when you are under stress. Plus Hypochondria is a psychosomatic disorder, meaning that mental thoughts can cause physical symptoms.

Here are some links to help you understand it better.

If you are really worried go to your doctor and get check out but it sounds to me like tension through anxiety, which can build up in the back of the head as it is close to your neck muscles. brain tumours rarely give the person pains in the head so don't worry yourself too much about it - A good way to get this checked out is to go to an optician as they will be able to look in your eyes to see if there is any pressure from with the skull but let me just say it is very common with anxiety to worry about these things i mean its our head isn't it! we are going to be concerned!!

In the short term - term massaging the muscles in the back of your neck see if the pain is aggravated or relaxed by this. if it is then it almost certainly muscular :)
