Hi, I went to the doctors today to get my blood test results and it appears that I have a low white blood cell count. The doctor I saw is not my usual doctor and would like to run the results past my actual doctor and then get back in touch with me.

I am really worried that there could be something seriously wrong with me as something doesn't feel right in my body, like an inbalance which is not anxiety related.

Does low white blood cell count indicate anything bad?

My thyroid is also slightly under active, what does that mean?

Thanks all

Matt

Hi, I am not sure about the white cell count, but an underactive thyroid just means your thyroid is under producing thyroid by a small amount or the tsh level is slightly raised.

Dont worry until u talk to your doc, i did read that an underactive thyroid can cause a low count, im not a doctor, but it could be the reason it just basically means your immunity is low right now, do u have phneumonia or are u sick? Also are u taking any meds i know seraquil can actually cause an undeactive thyroid, not common but it can! u will be okay if u need to talk thats what im here for:)

Hi, no I'm not sick and I do not take any meds either.

I am hoping that I have been overtraining at the gym over the past 7 years (not had a straight week off the gym during this time) has caused my immune system to drop as I know overtraining can cause this, but is my immune system the same as white blood cell count?
