Hi again

Ive got my initial assessment with my mental health team tomorrow and im getting really anxious, not sure what to expect.

Is it normally just with one person or more? What sort of questions do they ask, and do they go into medication as im not sure if the one im on is right for me?

Any advice or reassurance would be appreciated, I really hate doing new things like this and im getting really worried

Just thought Id give an update in case anyones interested.

Well it went really well, I was very nervous beforehand but she was lovely & put me at ease. She asked me about my sleeping, appetite etc & gave me some info on relaxation techniques. I asked her about my medication & she said its doing well to keep my depression at a plateu, but my anxiety has got a lot worse. She said once we get my anxiety a bit better with relaxation, exercise etc my mood should improve & Ill sleep better so am giving it more time.

She also referred me for cbt & said theyll be in contact within 2 weeks - I was expecting it to take months so Im really pleased.

All in all Im feeling much more positive, Ive still got my grandads funeral to get through next week but am hoping the relaxation techniques will help me to cope :)

Hi, I'm glad it went well for you and well done for going! I didn't reply to your earlier post as I didn't know the answers to your questions. I'll be thinking of you next week x

Hi Hazie

Very glad to hear your appointment went well.

Sounds like a really worthwhile visit.

The relaxation techniques should be good for you and the anxiety improving and making your mood improve, makes lots of sense.

Thanks for the update and good luck with the CBT.

You remain positive, remember today.

Best wishes and I hope the funeral isnt to testing for you.

Take care
