I was watching a tv docu last night and it explained how reading or watching the news is programmed into humans and the more fear they tell us about, the more hooked we become.

I have always wondered why I loved the news so much.

Have you a link Piers? As someone who works in the media I do feel it is all too easy for people to shoot the messenger all the time but I'd be interested to see what this has to say x

Was it Charlie Brooker's thing? If not, it sounds similar, and I highly recommend it!

Not really anxiety based but a good programme. Not as funny as some of his other stuff (apart from the excellent "what if..." bit) - basically just a degree in media studies! Interesting though.
