View Full Version : 1st session, any advice?
Today I will be seeing a therapist for the first time to try and see whether she might be the right person to help me with depression/anxiety. She's well qualified, experienced and all that. Have to say I'm not looking forward to it! Any advice on what I should do, what I should be looking for etc?

CBT has been the best for me. Good luck:bighug1:
Thank-you, she offers CBT amongst other approaches - I really hope this works out for me
Good Luck .Hope you go on ok:flowers:
I think I can work with this lady - I'll give it a try anyway :) It was a bit nerve wracking though 'cos my back-story is the cliche lurid tale of violence, alcoholism and divorce (mostly not me, but in my family background) and I feel like an Eastenders character or something when I have to trot all that out. She does integrative therapy and will bring a bit of what seems appropriate to bear on my problems.
hi b4eve,
Glad you have been ok.Sounds like the therapist lady is a good one. It all has to come out .I'm sure it will be worth it in the end.
Take care:yesyes:
