Hi all

I am sure I have TMJ! For years I have had long periods of pain that have been investigated to no avail!!

During my last bout, I was seen by an ENT specialist as my tinnitusgot so bad! All was fine.

Since November I have had a headache almost every day. It is more like pains in my head than a headache. They run up the left side of my head from the back of my neck, jaw and temple. Often the side of my head feels tight. My eye aches and the sinus area under my eye. My jaw clicks and grinds when I eat or yawn and the bone near my ear is very tender. I also have a very tender scalp on the left side and sometime smuscle twitches. I have persistent tinnitus in my left ear too. I have had my eyes tested recently and have no unusual pressure (I did need to get reading glasses but only a light prescrption!) MY shoulder, neck, jaw and temple always hurt on my left side and often feels stiff.

I don't grind my teeth at night that i know of but I do always clench my jaw during the day. When I was a child, I feel off a bunk bed and smashed my face quite spectacularly and have often had problems with my jaw since.

I get passed backwards and forwards from doctor to dentisit - no-one wants to take ownership of this problem and yet it is really affecting my life at the moment. I always have some pain and with that comes the usual anxiety of it being something a lot more sinister and this, in turn causes tension and more pain!! I have tried an osteopath too but I am not sure it is really working. I don't know who to trust and who to ask anymore!!

Can anyone help at all?
