i just started paxil 40 mg and im on xanax 1 mg i notice this has caused my pupils to dialate! can this be normal?

Yes i remember some benzo's/ anti ds many years ago used to make mine huge lol..Weird ... Now though they are tiny as i am on pain medication, as opiate's do that .

does it continue the whole time you are on anti-D's as mine are larger than normal too, not much but wondered if it was citalopram which I have been taking for 3 months.

Yes it will continue the whole time. It's because of the increased nor-epinephrine. Nothing to worry about.
