Hello everyone, my name is Steve, I've suffered from panic attacks now for 3 years, I'm am really fed up with them, because it ruins me completey for a few days afterwards as well. I wake up at night feeling warm and numb all over and then I can't breath and swallow, the the dread heart starts thumping before I rush to the toilet and splash cold water on my face and body to cool myself down, then I get the shivers for what seems like ages before dropping asleep if I'm lucky. I f I have one during the day then I panic more because I work as a network manager, so when I am sat in a meeting and I feel one coming on I feel so embarrassed when I have to get up and rush out the door because I feel like I'm going to poo myself or be sick. I get lots of chest pains with it to. Sorry to go on, just nice to write this stuff down sometimes.

I can't sleep with the light off because the darks makes my mind go all funny on me. Some topics on this site have helped me already, much better to know your never suffering alone.

Hi Steve,

I used to be a Technical Support Manager, and the job was stressful, but I enjoyed it. I used to get the exact symptoms. I still do. I told my boss the Director and he told me he had the same thing. It is so horrible. And yes, it's not nice when they come on at work. My boss told me that he had a relaxing bath before he went to bed and it helped so I tried it. I listen to my favourite music and chill. I cut down on the caffine too at work as that was causing me issues and had lots of water through out the day. walking in my lunch hour helped too. There are lots of things you could try.

I hope that helps
