Hi guys,

I've been managing my HA fairly well for the past few weeks but feel I'm on the brink of a meltdown.
About 3 weeks ago I got a cold, nothing major but enough to make me feel rough. It eased off after a week or so but only a couple of days later I woke up feeling awful again and continued to feel rubbish until a couple of days ago. So, finally feeling like the cold is going and then last night my chest felt heavy, this morning it feels even worse and I'm a bit wheezy.

My mind is going crazy thinking ok everyone catches a cold but who has 2 bouts of cold and now possibly a chest infection in the space of 3 weeks???? Not forgetting that I'm waiting to see a chest specialist because I've been coughing up blood since October!!!! One of the symptoms of lung cancer is repeated chest infections.

I'm desperatly trying to put in practice everything I learnt in CBT but I'm not doing great to be honest. I feel so disappointed with myself, I was doing so well :weep:

Woke up this morning and feel really sick. There's a really painful spot on my stomach that when I press it makes me want to throw up :weep:

I know how you feel. I was coping with the HA all the time I was healthy but as soon as I did have an actual medical condition (which, like yours, is probably nothing as serous as we convince ourselves it is!) and that was it I had decided my life was over. Just keep hoping it is just a bad patch and one day soon things will get better.

I'm really starting to panic now.
My chest is really hurting, feels like someones sitting on it and I've developed a nasty cough which really hurts too. Is it normal to have 3 different colds in 3 weeks? Please anyone, your advice would be appreciated.

Absolutely , especially a chest infection , some people need anti biotecs to clear it up . A mate of mine had one most of last summer , it went only to come back over winter . He has had chest xrays and they were clear .

He was pissed off as he couldn,t play golf because he was so out of breath and knackered

Thanks for taking the time to answer. I'm worried that there's an underlying problem causing me to keep catching cold after cold and now a chest infection. Don't know if you read my original post, but I'm waiting to see a chest specialist because I've been coughing up small flecks of blood since October. GP isn't too worried and I've (I@ve) had 2 clear x-rays (one in June & one in November last year), but can't shake the feeling that I must have something wrong to have such a weak immune system. Up until this chest infection I was handling my HA so well :weep:
