I was prescribed a generic drug called sulfameth for a UTI. I have been on it for 8 days and today I have little pimples or a rash that itches like crazy all over my back. I am set to have out patient knee surgery tomorrow and I am freaking out. I will talk to my doctor tomorrow and find out what to do. To make matters worse, I googled a rash with this drug and a common rash is mentioned but so is some rare disease that involves bloody diarrhea. Yesterday I had a BM that looked like part of it was bright red. I rationalized that it was from strawberry yogurt and red gatorade. I bought some ez-detect fecal blood tests and did two of them today and both were negative. Don't know what to do and I am freaking out. HELP!
