I was thinking it may be a good idea (if its not been done already) to help calm down and rationalise our 'illnesses' by giving examples of when we have been proven wrong.
e.g. actually having a cold when you though it was deadly etc And bviously a lot of symptoms are due to the anxiety.
I dont know if people will want to do this, just thought it might help.

I have proved myself wrong by thinking I had throat/oral/mouth cancer when in fact it was this weird thing called tonsil stones.

Every month I feel like I am getting ill, I get clumsy, tired and achey...then its that time of the month and I am fine after.

This is actually a very good point - one of the things I've had to do in CBT is to provide rational arguments to my irrational thoughts. It works!

I thought i had coughed up blood last week (i,m obssesive about this since packing in smokeing last October )
I,ve had a bad cough and mucus for months but now clearing up.

It looked like blood , it was blood , i went all hot then cold . Then my stomach did a summer salt . Then i passed wind .

Then i thought for a few seconds .....i had just brushed my teeth really really well and the blood was from my gums :whistles::whistles:

What a Noddy !

Great idea for a thread:
For the past 5 months I've thought I had lung cancer since I started coughing up blood in October. I also have other symptoms such as shortness of breath, extreme fatigue, pain in left shoulder, repeated infections, wheeziness......
I saw a Chest Specialist yesterday and guess what .... I don't have anything wrong with my lungs! They are investigating where the blood is coming from but I'm not bothered as long as I don't have cancer!!
I truely 100% thought I had it, I would have bet my house on it and yet I was so wrong! It just goes to show that even with a lot of symptoms that point to something, doesn't necessarily mean that's what's wrong.
