Hi,
I am a new member and I have never done anything on a site like this before. I have been suffering from anxiety for about 6 years. One day I had a panic attack and since then I have been a off and on anxiety sufferer. My question for anyone is about how I remember myself after anxiety episodes. I will go months with nothing and then months were I sufer. When I have anxiety its like I am walking around in a daze for months at a time. If I look back at myself threw my anxiety months I don't even recognize myself. Doe sthat make since? Its like I am someone i don't know for the time. It is so scary to me. Its almost liek I go crazy for awhile. It really effects everything in my life. My doctors put me on Paxil for a while and I will never take that again[V]. It made me emotionless. I hate that I have to deal with this and man does it take a strong person to take this in life. Can anyone relate? This site is a great comfort. Thanks all.

Hi Jodie

Welcome to the forum.

You will find lots of help & advice on here.

I have been in the same boat as you re a dazed feeling but it will pass. If you think the tablets are not doing you any good re side affects have a word with the doc perhaps & see if they can recommend anything else for you. I found Fluxotine made me completely spaced out so i change to citolopram & touch wood have been fine.

Thanks for the replies so far. Its nice to know that people relate to me. As far as medicine goes right now I am on nothing because I am pregnant and I didn't want anything to effect my baby. Its hard to live with nothing but I only have 2 1/2 months left. Before that I was on Prozac and larazapam which work alot better than Paxil. Kimmy it is weird looking back and wondering who I was at the time. I wonder with as many anxiety spells as I have if I'm ever myself. Or who is myself. I am still trying to figure out who I am because of anxiety. I wanted to respond, hopefully i did this right. I'm still not sure as to how to use the site but I want to reply to everyone who shares there stories to help me. It really means alot. Thanks all.

Hi Jodi

What you say makes perfect sense and you are not going mad or crazy.

This sounds like depersonalisation/derealisation which affects a lot of us when acute and then settles as the acute phase passes.

Have a read of some of these previous posts which might help:

I think this site is good for realising your not alon and the symptoms your feeling are what we all have experience. This can be reassuring to you I hope, becaue like I said beofre I felt exactly the same as you. But with some gentle incouragement I have become less anxious after time.
