HI There,
I have General Anxiety Disorder and have been able to manage the
Symptoms up till now.

There has been lots of stressful things for me to cope with lately,
this has sent the Anxietyvery high now.
I have had the Swallowing problems previously, and then it has eased,
however this time it is really strong.
My throat is closing up when i try to eat, Muscle Spasym,
every thing has to be mashed and soft to eat, however, now it is
happening even when I drink liquids, this scares me so much.

It is only for a few seconds, but so scarey.

Please tell me if you have had anything like this,
just need to hear from you, so that i know others
have experienced this sort of thing.

Love Penny,

PENNY,

Karen

I have huge anxiety issues and couldn't swallow during a panic attack and was terrified. You are not alone. I so hope the posts Karen has for you will help.

Hi Penny

I too suffer from the throat and swallowing thing, I have over the last month been awful, and I too got so bad that I felt I couldn't even swallow water, I basically didn't eat for three days, and that certainly doesn't help the situation. I saw my doctor who assured me that it is just anxiety but still leave there feeling that he missed something and that I didn't explain my symptoms so that he could diagnose it properly, crazy isn't it. However, I have taken as prescribed half a diazepam twice a day for 5 days and at the moment am feeling much calmer, so it does get better, if you can just calm down enough to allow it to disappear a bit from the front of your mind.

Good luck and I hope you soon feel better, you're more than welcome to PM if you need to chat, it's good to know there are other people around who feel the same, this site has been a godsend to me over the past three weeks.
