propranolol withdrawal symptoms

i came off propranolol this week and onto citalopram and the dr told me to take 1 prop twice a day for 2 days then down to 1 a day then none.
I have been getting what i think are palputations and feeling exhausted can this be to do with the withdrawal symptoms? how long will they last? x

have been on propranolol, depends what mg and how long you have taken them for, more than likely you are not suffering withdrawl but increased anxiety due to taking citalopram for the first 2-4 weeks, also you will be more conscious of your heartrate as it goes back up to its normal beat, beta blockers slow the heart so its probably just returning to normal and with the increased anxiety increasing your heart rate and thats what your experiencing, if it persists get your dr to check it next week x

thanks i was on 20mg twice a day for 3 weeks.
iv been on citalopram twice before and have never had palpitations, actually iv never suffered with heart worries with my anxiety.
im sure im probably just noticing it more. thanks x

I cut down from 40mg 3x daily to 40mg once daily for a week and then stopped, I only take Propranolol once every 3 months now if I feel worried. I had no withdrawal symptoms and was fine, though my anxiety had really calmed down and I was not taking anything else. It may be the combination with Cit, or maybe it's too early to cut dwon on beta-blockers.
