Dont know whats caused this

Was fine this morning and now i have a real stabbing pain in the top of my left shoulder as if someone is standing on it and also on my left cheekbone as if i have been punched

Any ideas what could have caused this - i havent fallen or anything - just started suddenly

Hi, maybe you slept awkwardly...muscular spasm can occur a few hours after waking. Try a muscle rub, massage, hot water bottle.

done that Paula but its not helping at all - its also in left elbow and neck and the pain is making me feel sick

Def sounds like a trapped nerve/muscular tension type thing, maybe you could try anti-inflammatories if you can tolerate them? Intense pain can make you feel nausea (I feel sick when I get my period as the pain is so bad). Obviously, if it continues, see your GP.

Sounds like a trapped or pinched nerve to me. I get it all the time and I know it's horrible. Try to rest your arm and don't worry as stress will make it worse. Maybe have a nice long soak in the bath later. :flowers:
