Thanks for this. Really helpful and such a good idea. I was prescribed Seroxat last Thursday which, after reading a LOT about, decided not to take. One of the most quoted things was that it was really difficult to stop using. I have another appointment with my GP on Tuesday and was planning on asking for Citalopram so this link has been timely for me. :)

I now have the energy to go to the gym which helps greatly. Have not been able to do this for last 2+ years. This has been my lifelong coping statagy (age 54).
I have moved form the North of England to the South recently and there seems to be a more total approach than I have experienced before. By this I mean the approach is to include medication, talking etc and to look at what is the best approach to my condition.
This may simply be as a result of seeing a new and younger Doctor who seems more up to speed and accepting of the difficulties caused by depression. I should perhaps have changed doctor years ago but that takes a degree of confidence. If not getting any positive results consider looking for a second medical opinion.
