Hi! I was surfing for info on controlling panic attacks and came across this great site. lots of info which is what I need. Ihave OCD and anxiety for as long as I can remember but have always been able to control it by myself. This last month though, I have had 2 extremely frightening panic attacks and had to go to emergemcy...Now I afraid almost all the time-paniced that I'll have another attack that I can't calm myself down from. I look after my two girls right now at home-by myself-so the thought of getting out of control again is what brought me to seek some answers. I guess I need to fix my negative thinking and my "perfectionist" personailty that is tied into my OCD.
So, I look forward to sharing info on techniques, stressors, OCD management, medication and therapy ideas...This extreme fear cropping up with scary physical effects is new to me but I want to get better. I'm glad there is this website.

No, I haven't had any treatment in the past for any anxiety, depression or OCD...I've basically lived with it and managed the anxiety and OCD but now I guess it's caught up with me and I finally saw a doctor about it. They perscribed ativan for me when I get another massive panic attack-like a valium I guess...and its 2 months till I can see a "mental" doctor, so I'm keeping these pills around for emergencies...But, ultimately, I don't want any medication in my system and want to learn how to control the symtoms myself. I just don't want to feel like I have these last few days...:(...I would rather I lost a limb than feel these panic attacks again...
