Fluoxetine to escitalopram

Hello I wondered if anyone had gone from Fluoxetine to escitalopram, I have been on Fluoxetine for 14 days and have dreadful dreadful side effects. I have previously been on escitalopram so am going to asked to be changed back to those. Has anyone done this please and how did it go? and do you go from one straight to the other?

I haven't gone from Fluoxetine to Escit but I did from Sertraline. It was ok, certainly suffered side effects but no where near as bad as they were on the sert. I was on the Sertraline for less than a week but still had to wait about 5 days before i could start the Escit. I did have Diazepam to take if needed during the interim.

I think all meds will have an effect regardless of whether you are starting on them a fresh or changing from one med to another. As long as the side effects are bearable and you can get over the initial 2-3 week period.
