I am undergoing investigations hip/back pain at present. The pain is very real and not like my usual 'anxiety pains'.

I saw a pelvic specialist on Mondayand he told me that because my pain was intermittant, stabbing, dull and hot and that I felt it radiating in other parts of me that it was not the kinda pain assocaited with cancer. So please try to take some peace from that Sandy (I did).

He has pinpointed two things that it could be both non-life threatening.

In your heart of hearts is the pain definately NOT anxiety? I knew my pain was different to usual and sometimes it is hard to know what is real and what is not. Also I find I worry that the doctors have marked my cards and will not take me seriously..

Hi Sandy,

Yes I am on painkillers, started with Tramadol which just took the edge of the sharp pain but didn't get rid of it. The doctor changed to another type which directly targets the lower nerve endings in the lower abdomin called Gabapentin - just taken my first one as I am hoping to get some sleep tonight.

I had Post Traumatic Street Disorder years back which wasn't diagnosed for years - I was in so much physical pain and didn't believe any of my all-clear results. Here I am 15 years or so later.
