I have just watched part of the embarassing bodies tv programme - I knew it was a bad idea and now I'm panicking. There was a part on breast cancer and it mentioned that having orange peel skin could be a sign of breast cancer - well I have had a orange / brown line mark on my breast skin for years and in the past year I've had my breasts examined by a few Dr's and even a breast consultant but I'm worried that this could be a worrying symptom? anyone have any advice / experience

thanks x

By orange peel skin they mean the texture of orange peel, kind of wrinkly and puckered. They are not talking about discolouration which is more than likely a birth mark or an age spot. If you notice any changes in your breasts you should consult a Doctor, but if you've had a breast examination and Doctor's have seen the coloured patch, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. :flowers:

just watched the programme again to double check what they said and it was "any oranging of the skin or orange peel texture" - trying to reassure myself as I'm pretty sure I've had this mark since 2004 or possibily earlier but my HA is trying to make me think otherwise!

A breast consultant wouldn't ignore anything amiss so I think you are fine but if you are still worried then all you can do is go back and mention this specific thing

I watched the same episode, and they did make reference to both the texture of orange peel, and discolouration of the skin.

They also said that the most important thing is to get checked if anything changes.

Given that you have had it for years AND it has been seen before by doctors and a consultant who have checked you, you have no need to worry :hugs:
