blood at the back of my troat

Hiya

I am really worried cause this morning my throat felt kind of thick so I cleared my throat and there was a small amount of bright red blood. I have had two other amounts through out the morning smaller each time and bright red, should I be worried, does this mean throat cancer? or worse.

I have made my throat quite sore cause I have been clearing it every two minutes to check and there hasn't been any now for over an hour.

I am really fed up of this now.

Sometimes little bits of blood like this can be caused by catarrh being stuck at the back of the nose and throat. As you cough it away, it pulls at the membranes and makes them bleed a little. I certainly get this when I've had a bad cold or sinusitis, but a doctor can check this out quite easily by having a look at the back of your throat.
