sorry gross title

ongoing visits to gp - he says upset stomach is stress/anx,
i say no
since it is totally different to my 'normal' gut stress reactions

keep going back back
finally he has agreed to test for bugs
says he thinks its a low grade infection

i am stressed out of my head with fear, scenarios etc
sleep is rubbish
days rubbish and need to be near loo much of time

i simply dont believe him
he says stress = gut prob
i say gut prob = stress

but when you carry a mh dx of chronic anxiety it seems to go against you

what do i do

i desperately want him to be right, but i am convinced he isnt
and im terrified

ed.
am now taking more propranolol but nothing has changed, indeed it is worse
cant take the pregabalin for number of reasons
one, being, if the tummy stuff continues then we will KNOW it is something serious - no doubt, no hesitation, no wonder
and that is sooooooooooo scaring me

I know the feeling of not trusting the doctor because you feel like you know your body.
did the test results come back and what kind of symptoms are you getting?
:hugs:

ty for replying
only took sample into hosp weds
no idea how long it will take
but reading on web, says over 3 weeks is unlikely to be infection
and its been nearly 5 now
not sure you really want details !! but there is no cramping, like u would get with a bug, or with ibs

and the stupid mint oil is doing nothing

lol @ the mint oil :)
not sure what to say without details just it can be good to get further tests if your very uncomfortable .
if the tests come back negitive I guess your next option is a camera in one or both ends
unless they do a ultrasound scan if your suffering from any pain.

I know quite a few people who have no cramping with their IBS but just horrible runs!

Same with IBS-C, cramping is not as common as people think with IBS.

that is what is so scary - there is no, or virtually no pain

Your diet will play a big part in the colour of what comes out as well.

Do you have a diet high in fat at all?

everglades

well yes
well, was pretty rubbish - dinner in eve, but otherwise mostly biscuits/crisps/cake/chocolate
or nothing much

been trying really hard last few days - having to eat 3 meals with the mint capsules
not having milk/yog (incase that was causing it)
and trying not to eat the rubbish stuff - but that is sooo hard

just spend every day scared of eating, scared of loo, scared of every tummy rumble
and every night scared of - bloody everything

ed.
diet been poor for 2 1/2 yrs so why would it all change things now?

well
mebeverine/fybogel has 'glued' things somewhat
but things still small, thin, v small, varied
never normal size
so this is all very frightening

have finally got gp to refer me to gastrologist - no idea how many weeks that will take
this all began in feb and we are now in may
:(
