I am working on a leaflet for this site and anyone else who wants it!
Its only a small informative leaflet with information taken (and cited) from NHS websites, PatientUK and Bupa.
So far I have covered:
Palpitations
Tummy problems, cramps and urinary issues
Tightness in chest
Dizziness & Nausea
Difficulty Swallowing
If you have any suggestions for other common symptoms please let me know and if you would like write about 150 words about it. I will put it into the leaflet along with your name.
If you decide to help please use information from the NHS websites or any mentioned above.
Here is an example so you can see the style of writing:
Palpitations
Did you know the know human heart beats, on average, 100,000 times per day? Not many people realise this and instead they see every beat, thud or jitter as the sign of a heart attack.
It is perfectly normal for all humans, both male and female, to have a few different beats per day, the only reason it feels 'not quite right' with anxiety is that our minds pick up on this and turn it into something it is not.
A typical palpitation is described as a beat a person may feel or that feels different. This often last for just a few seconds or sometimes minutes and can be felt in the chest, neck or throat area. It cant be quite scary but in 99.9% cases they are totally harmless.
Here are the first two pages, front cover and info page - when completed the leaflet will also have a help section, including a paragraph about No More Panic (Nicola - mind writing something?)
Again, if you have any suggestions, ideas or anything to say please write a comment below.
Cheers,
P.
