Welcome Janet,

I too have been managing symptoms of anxiety, caused by fear of panic attacks, for years now.
Sometimes I am ok and symptom free for weeks but others, like now, the anxiety likes to throw me a curve ball so I change my game plan. - easier said than done right?
Sounds like you have been through a horrible ordeal over the last week but you have come to the right place :yesyes:
Please don't be hard on yourself. Its ok to be upset and disappointed about your week but also remember all the achievements you have made over the last few years. Remember these feelings will pass and you will feel strong again soon.

Hi Janet,

Did your GP not recommend any kind of counselling?

I have wondered what resources the NHS really has to help with this and whether sufferers need to get private counselling.

Best wishes, Shaun

Glad to hear it. A good day does wonders for confidence.

I'm fine. I only recently got a driver's lisence (after many years avoidance), every now and then I pluck up the courage to take out the car, when it's early and no other cars are around. Still get a bit of panic when driving but can't believe I even manged that, so miracles do happen! :D

Hi Janet,

I'm new too, you have to push on the therapy, mine wanted to give me tabs but I can't take them because of work...and the therapy wait will be at least 6 months...and I am in the very severe category for depression and anxiety....can easily see how people go 'over the edge' having to wait that long for help.

You will quickly see that you are not alone here, there are many people with similar issues as yourself, so I am hoping that someone can help me along the way too.

Keep smiling

Tony
