Yep - I'm scared too, I'd do anything for a pint of cold cider!!! I tried a glass of wine a while ago and it brought on all the anxiety symptoms. I feel lightheaded quite a lot and its such a horrid feeling, I'm scared alcohol will add to that lightheadedness!! Its so long since I've had a drink that I think a glass of wine would go straight to my head!! Where once alcohol gave me a nice, warm feeling, I now associate it with feeling anxious and horrid. I hope this makes sense - its a bit gabbled, sorry!!
I guess we should look on the positive and think how much more healthy we are not drinking, but then again - cold cider!!!!!!
Take Care

Hi, i gave up drinking for over two years during my worst anxiety/panic and started drinking again last august. I have had a few dodgy moments, but more so the day after, so since my worst experience last sunday, i have decided to become a t-total again. Tara x

Wendy .. enjoy life as much as you can..its just everything is best to be in moderation especially when ya suffer with ya nerves..dont wanna add to it do we.

And i dont know about you, and it does pi** me off but i cant even drink diet coke(and i love it) i have to have caffine free..as caffine makes my anxiety and heart go loppy.. caffine isnt goodx for some of us.. and i am bloody one of them...again let me stress cant harm ya.. just sometimes make us worse, all depends what the individual is like,

Well my first day out today without alcohol. Been with all my friends, they were all like "go on tara just have one!" "i can't believe your on the squash!". Well tuff booby, i am now a t-total and proud lol, and i've come home with loads of money in my pocket he he, and i'll wake up tomorrow feeling okey dokey, and i had a good day so it can't be that bad.
Thing is i can't have just one, once i get the taste i'll carry on on.

Yup - I can't drink either since having panic/anxiety. Don't even try now. I actually quite like not drinking now. It's great to never have a hangover.

Hello
It's true drinking is not good for you!!! When i was first diagnosed with panic disorder i relied on drink to get me to sleep, i felt rubbish (polite word to put how i felt next day) but i could'nt sleep without it. It's been over 2 months now since i've had a good drink, at first i thought i would die without getting any sleep, but after a week i was still alive and not missing it. I've been good so far (No caffiene, the odd stint on the exercise bike) I feel a lot better, but i have noticed if i go out and have a drink (or 5) i'm back to square 1 the next morning. Is it worth it, but i miss it so much!!!!!
