Anyone on 2 antidepressants ???

My doctor is pleased that the tricyclic( anafranil) I am taking is helping with anxiety but I still have severe depression.

She has suggested taking another antidepressant( imipramine or amitryptyline) to help with the depression side of things.

Has anyone tried this approach ?

Hi Franki I was on anafranil for years but after I stopped for a while was than prescribed with an ssri called cipralex. I always thught imipramine was a type of anafranil? or at least its another tricyclic antidepressant.I am not sure now if I was better on the older antidepressant Anafranil than the SSRI I am on now. What dose do you take daily? take care sorry I cant be of any help. Vernon
