How many lymph nodes swell in lymphoma?

Can just one swell, or is it usually more?
And how big do they get? Do they just stay like a normal swollen gland due to infection, or do they continue to grow in size?

My friend had Hodgkins lymphoma and he had one huge gland at base of neck swell up and I mean like a tennis ball - this was 20 years ago and he is fine. . I have another friend with non hodgkins lymphoma who has had the chronic version for over 30 years that flares up every few years - he has loads of lumps all over when it flares but again quite a size and very obvious.

Have you been to the Dr if you have a swollen gland as all Drs can tell quite easily a gland that is suspicious and one that is the usual run of the mill reacting to a bit of infection gland.

Yeah, I've been to the Doctor. She said it doesn't seem suspicious because it's movable and not hard or rubbery. But I've also got Petechiae which is another Lymphoma symptom. I had a blood test and it came back normal, but I'm not sure blood tests can detect cancer anyway. I'll go back to the Doctor sometime this week. She did say if my blood test results were normal she'd refer me to a specialist anyway. Thanks for the information. x
