[8)]Hiya folks,
Well I've been batting the social isolation ball around with a few friends in another thread in Misc...so I thought I'd start another topic on it. There are so many of us out there who are so grateful for this site, but I wonder just how many of us suffer from this social isolation. I do and I have problems wrestling with having to mix with other folk, and on a daily basis. I know if I let it win that I won't want to go out of the door anymore and so I fight on; I work five days a week; I go to reviews at my childrens school; I shop etc, etc...but it is hard going. I sort of drift around work doing my job to the best of my abilities, but I try to avoid huge gatherings...as I'll usually only put both feet in it at some point in the proceedings. How do we get away from it? How do we get back to successful socialising? Is it a simple question of having more faith in ourselves and building our self esteem levels back up??? I don't know, but I would like there to be someone out there who has stood in my shoes and is now successfully getting back into life. I feel like I get by and I'm getting along with it, but I don't feel like I am really living[?] So, any ideas folks[Sigh...] It would be good to feel as if I am not totally on my own:(

Hi again Blue,

i'm completely with you on everything you've just said....I've just said as much on the other thread.

I too would love to know how to change, or even if its possible.

As you say you try and just get by but for me its a pretence and an act....like I dont know how to really be me? (or i'm scared to really be me).
