Propranolol short lived?

Hi

I'm taking Propranolol 3 x 40mg per day alongside 20mg Amitriptyline at night (and 6mg Diazepam over the course of the day just for the next few days)

I find the Propranolol ace for calming the physical aspects of my anxiety, but it is so short lived. I feel calm and normal for a couple of hours and then I'm back to my anxious self.

Does anyone else get this?

I had 40mg tablets and found they lasted about 4-5 hours each time. It may take a while for your system to calm down, give it time. :)

Propanolol is a short acting drug, give it time. You might find a time release version to be better, but you've got to try this for awhile first!

I get this as well but mine lasts for more like 8 hours.
I was taking one at around 730am & another at 630pm but now I've switched the second one to 430pm & that stops the waves of anxiousness coming on x

Hi littlestar,

Yes this happened with me too so my GP changed me over to Bisoprolol which lasts 24 hours.
