upping the dose

hello, my doctor has increased my dose of citalopram from 20mg to 30mg,

i meant to ask him what upping the dose of this would actually do? does it work faster or do more? does anyone know as i forgot to ask the doctor.

any help much appreciated

It should just be more effective. You may have more side effects for a time though.

How long have you been taking the citalopram for??? I have taken these in the past and when i increased from 20-30 didn't really feel anything much in the way of side effects....so you may be o.k. Its usually when you first start taking them that you get the most in side effects.

Hi jo, have only been taking it for a few months but fingers crossed the new dose helps, I was just worried because i had a few side effects from 10-20mg and didn't want anymore lol xx
