Hi everyone
I've just had another random sudden " lightheaded like I'm on a boat" dizziness while making the supper (which I have now abandoned) and I'm on my bed in tears with my family sitting downstairs unaware of what I'm going through.
Can't stop thinking I'm going to die :( :( ivfeel so stupid but I can't help it.
Don't know what to do :(

Hi Lindajane

Sorry to hear you are feeling so frightened and anxious this eve. I wanted to say that I have been struggling with a v similar sensation lately. A very spaced out and lightheaded feeling. It seems to come out of no where and leaves me feeling very disconnected and spaced out. Is this how you feel too?

I think the anxiety comes from the sudden onset, for me at least. Have you had your eyes tested recently? Also you may subconsiously, thru out the day, be shallow breathing which reduces the oxygen levels to your brain. This can also leave you lightheaded.

For this very reason I went last week and they can now do checks which look at the back of the eye and take pictures.
The optician explained what blood vessels etc we were looking at in my eye and explained what images would show markers for high blood pressure, clots, burst vessels, tumours etc. It was so reassuring to hear and see.

The brain is very powerful and anxiety really can manifest itself in the head in this way. Also have you drunk and eaten enough? Low blood sugar can also contribute to these feelings x

Hi Lindajane

I just wanted to say hi and say you're not alone in how you feel tonight. I've had exactly the same happen to me this evening... for no reason I've come over feeling so unsteady and ill and then have gone into total panic - so much so I thought I would collapse in the car driving home this evening.... Of course I didn't but it's the most panicy I've felt in a long time..... I couldn't breathe and my legs and arms felt so weak....

I got home and burst into tears - I'm sure my husband despairs of me at times like this.... I can see he tries to understand but as much as he tries he can't....

I wish I knew what causes this anxiety as I'd had such a good day up until then.... the frustration right now is beyond belief.... I'm sure you know that feeling....

I hope you're feeling better soon hun.... Big hugs.... :hugs:
x

lindajane have you been checked for Meniere's Disease this is a curable problem of the inner ear, my uncle had dizzy spells quite alot it made his life a misery sudden attacks that made him head to his bed to lay down, that was up until he was diagnosed and treated and has never had an attack since, if dizzy spells are your main problem it might be worth asking the Doctor for a referral to a specialist.
