I can't speak from personal experience but my mum used to take evening primrose oil throughout her menopause and found it beneficial.

Give it some time. It can't do you any harm and vitamins are good for the body :)

I could not tell if the supplements ever helped. Biodentical Progesterone has been the most beneficial but I do include L-Theanine, B12 injections, Magnesium/calcium and Fish oil. As noted by Spagetti, they can't really hurt you.

I've heard good things about natural progesterone cream, has to be natural and not synthetic, available on the internet but would get advice from your Dr first.xxxx

Thank you for your replies, ive heard a lot of good/beneficial things about natural progesterone cream as well,i wonder if its worth taking though if you were on HRT? Just a thought,as it may overload the body with hormones?

I wouldn't take HRT and natural hormones at the same time. You are asking for trouble. Find a knowledgeable hormone specialist and there are a few in the UK that will write a script for compounded hormones.

Just because your hormone readings are "in range" doesn't mean they are in balance and your hormones change daily which can make the tests kind of useless if it isn't checked at the correct time.

I do know that the cream made with wild yam is said to be useless. Also always say that if you find something that works then keep using it! Whether it is over the counter, natural, synthetic or whatever.

Depending on your symptoms, Fish Oil and magnesium supplementation can be good. Give everything you try a couple of months to regulate out in your system. Dealing with hormone imbalance is an art form lol.

Are you on the Power Surge forums?

Hi Davinci, thanks for your reply. I thought it wouldnt be a good idea to use progesterone cream as well as HRT to be honest,as it would be overloading the body with hormones i think.
Ive been on the Power Surge website and it looks pretty good, with lots of pre/menopause information and help.
Ive started eating more fish to try to see if that helps as well as taking Magnesium, its worth a try i guess.
Yes trying to sort out our hormones isnt easy is it?

Lots of info on PS, just avoid the drama. I don't post there anymore but do have a lot of the girls on my facebook page, can pick and choose then lol. Best of luck, the hormones are a nightmare when you have anxiety issues. Or maybe that is anxiety is a nightmare when you have hormone issues. Can't win for losing with that combo.
