Is this a side effect..?

I'm into week three of 10mg/day now and I have been experiencing a rather nagging stomach ache.

Would anybody know if this is a posible side effect of Citalopram? Or should I be cutting down my intake of fig roll biscuits that I seem to be eating rather a lot of lately?!

Advice would be gratefully received.

Heh, I think figs can contribute to rapid evacuation response, or as I call it, the squits. On the other hand cit can certainly upset your system in the early days. It would be more noticeable if you increased the dose.

I had acid indigestion a lot when on Citalopram so I would say yes, it has the potential to upset the stomach. You should find however like all side effects it will diminish in time.

Figs are a deffinate NO NO until your dose has stabilised ..:D..You can get a bit loose at the begining of taking them :ohmy:,No need for laxative foodstuffs ..:winks: Sue

citalopram at the start made me feel really sickly but hang in there it will pass x x
