View Full Version : Can acupuncture affect the brain?
After my acupuncture on Saturday I felt dizzy and nauseous for 2 days, read on a website that its due to a healing crisis where your body is getting used to the rebalance of energy. But the guy put a needle in my scalp and I was wondering if it could affect my brain or cause epilepsy or a tumour?? Please please can anyone put my mind at rest.

I'm having acupuncture at the moment and I've had needles in my scalp. I haven't felt sick, but it does make me quite drowsy afterwards and I have found that my symptoms flare up slightly after a session (stomach ache, bloating etc).
Our skulls are very very thick and the needles only go into the skin a couple of mm, so there is no way it can affect the brain!!!!!!!
I'm going to stick with it for now - but am going to up my sessions to twice a week until I start to feel a lot better.
Hope that helps!
