I've taken my first tablet this morning. It's taken me two weeks to pluck up the courage. I'm currently having a panic attack :'( I'm trying to not think about what it might do to me and what effects um going to get. I hate this x

Hi,

I also have taken my first tablet today. I have been prescribed 40mg once a day to start off with as im nervous about taking new tablets. I feel ok so far, but I've not been out and about yet. My main worry is driving whilst taking them as the side effects can be dizziness and fainting. I will let you know how I have get on later today.

I've taken the 80mg extended release. I feel very strange. Not sure if its the anxiety as I've taken something I'm scared about or the actual tablets. Been to the docs this morning and he thinks it won't be the tabs... But I've got an awful dry mouth and a tight feeling in my throat. Trying to ignore the sensations as I know my fear will feed into it :( x

Mine seem to be making me feel a bit sicky. Went lightheaded whilst i was in the shower aswell. Now i'm worrying as I have to drive to tesco later. I definately worry too much! That is probably worsening the side effects. x

I woke up at 4ish then kept nodding off and waking up worrying that once the alarm went off it was tablet time! Worrying isn't good!! x

Hi,

I managed to drive out to Tesco earlier with no real problems. I did feel lightheaded as I was walking round, but I sometimes get that with anxiety anyway. Except this time I didnt feel like I needed to abandon the trolley and get away to a safe place when the adrenaline would kick in like I used to. I feel much better now as the dizziness seems to have worn off. This may be because tablets are wearing off a bit.

Are you feeling any better? I know its scary taking tablets for the first time. xx

I'm glad your shopping trip was a success :) I hate that adrenaline kick that you get whilst shopping. Been there so many times!!

I'm not sure how I feel to be honest. I feel a bit strange. A bit off balance and weary. I'm not sure if this is the tablets or just my anxiety. My heart isn't racing and I'm not shaking as normal but my stomach/heart feels weird.

Think I am far too sensitive!!!

Hey,

As I was feeling relaxed I thought I would be brave and drive into town. I lasted 20 minutes until I had to retreat back to the car. The dizziness was horrible. Felt like I was walking on air and everything around me was spinning. Had to sit in the car for 15 minutes until i dared to drive back.

Have you been getting the dizziness at all? x

The dizzyness you describe is how I feel every time I leave the house. How you feeling now?

I'm feeling bad again. How quickly does the slow release last? I feel awful. Not sure what's worse, the anxiety and racing heart or my head feeling like its in a vice :S

I just feel a bit drained now. I'm hoping it will be out of my system by tomorrow as i've got a 40 minute drive for a hypnotherapy appointment. I hate driving at the moment. Dont feel in control with having panic attacks whilst driving. Do you drive at all, and if so how do you cope with the anxiety whilst driving? x

How you feeling today?

I do drive but tend to find that I can control or distract myself or at least ride it out til I get home. I don't tend to drive far and hubby does the most of the driving.

Over the last few weeks I have been having more and more anxiety and just leaving the house is a big thing. Driving is really hard too which is why I have gone for medication.

I am hoping that this will help but after yesterday's experience with the tablets I'm not sure? :( x

I'm feeling much better today now the tablets worn off. How about you? Don't think I will be taking one today as I will just worry about driving far on them. I avoid dual carriageways and motorways at all costs though as I dont like feeling like I cant pull over if i need to. Thats what i am seeing the hypnotherapist about as I need to drive to get to work and i'm starting to lose confidence. x

I've got another prescription for the brand I used to take. Hopefully this will help. Just had a panic attack driving to the doctors and to the chemist. I did it though :) x

Hope your journey is a good one. Just try to distract yourself. I'd be interested to see how you get on with the hypnotherapist :) x

I will keep you updated. I'm hoping it works for me as I just want to live a normal happy life and my anxieties are holding me back so much now. x
